Grundy council ponders building ordinance

GRUNDY CENTER — The Grundy Center City Council Monday debated building codes and fees during its regular meeting at City Hall.
City Attorney Seth Schroeder was on hand to present a revised building ordinance that fixed some inconsistencies within City Code and added the new fees. Discussion centered around a $40 fee to either put up a fence or fix a property’s roof, a figure that Councilman Mike Ammerman suggested was unnecessary, particularly regarding fixing a roof.
