D-NH's Morgan Weber repeats as state golf champ (PHOTOS)

AMES – Morgan Weber had to be ready to do what she knew she was capable of.

The defending individual champion in Class 2A girls golf trailed Allison Nuss of New Hampton by a couple of strokes heading into the final day of competition, but the Dike-New Hartford junior said she wasn't letting herself get too high or too low.

"I had to stay level-headed," Weber said. "Don't get too cocky, don't get too nervous."

She admitted it was much easier for her to relax knowing that her teammates were with her on the course this time around.

Letter to the editor

In response to Mr. Keninger’s complaint regarding the Secondary Road Department and roads at the meeting of the Board of Supervisors on May 28, 2019, which was reported in The Grundy Register on May 30, 2019, Mr. Keninger is correct in saying that the gravel roads are in rough condition. However, this is not due to inferior maintenance. Grundy County spends over $2 million on its rock-surfaced roads (including snow removal), and the Road Department will receive $1.75 million in property taxes in fiscal year 2019.
