John M. Miller, 85, of Hampton, formerly of Grundy Center,  passed away July 30, 2014, at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton. A memorial service was held August 2 at the First Christian Church in Hampton, with Pastor Alan Berneman officiating. Burial took place in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Grundy Center.

Marlys Jean Tomlinson, 84, of Traer passed away August 3, 2014, at Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer with the family at her side after a long illness with cancer.  Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 7 at 11 AM  at the United Presbyterian Church in Traer with Pastor Brice Hoyt officiating.  Interment will follow at Buckingham Cemetery in Traer.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7 from 10 AM until the time of service at the church.  A memorial fund has been established.

Jack Yeomans, age 87, of Grundy Center and formerly of Iowa Falls and Wisconsin, died on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the Grundy Care Center in Grundy Center. Memorial services were held Aug. 5 at the First Christian Church in Iowa Falls with inurnment in the Bear Creek Cemetery, La Farge, Wis.   There will be visitation one hour before services at the church on Tuesday. The Surls Funeral Home of Iowa Falls is in charge of arrangements.

Evelyn P. Runge, 90 of Nevada, Iowa formerly of Grundy Center died Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Story County Medical Senior Care, in Nevada, Iowa. Memorial services were held July 31 at the Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home, Grundy Center with visitation held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.     Dorothy Jane Reynolds, 94, of Grundy Center, passed away July 25, 2014, at Grundy County Medical Center. A visitation was held Monday, July 28 at Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center followed by an Eastern Star Service. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 29 at First Presbyterian Church, 801 8th St, Grundy Center, with Reverend Mike Campbell officiating. Memorial contributions may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice, in celebration of Dorothy.

Thomas W. Weissenfluh, 57, of Reinbeck, Iowa, passed away of natural causes, on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the Unity Point Allen Hospital in Waterloo. Donald “Don” Edward Catherwood, 69, of Union, died July 26, 2014 at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center.
